In real life, I'm leading my church this month. In the dream, Emma came with me, and there was already somebody there speaking. I was getting confused because I didn't really know what was going on, and I was supposed to be leading. And as the time progressed, I realized I was the only one from my church actually there. My cousin was there and so was my uncle. My first campus minister from college was there kind of to the side, and when I went to talk to him and re introduce myself, he was like a bee or a fly. Very tiny and flying around. There were a bunch of bathroom stalls, and there was a homeless guy sleeping in one that was long and narrow, and emma closed the door for him Finally I was like "this is so weird" and I started wondering if it could be a dream. Emma started saying something like "Emma! Why is your face like that" and pulled down on your face like she was making a joke like if this were a dream, her face would be doing weird things. I was trying to think of how I got there, and there was no way this was a dream. I told Emma that there is a way that I can test if it's a dream. We walked down the hall and I punched someone in the face (this is often my test in dreams. Like I wouldn't do this in real life, but if I punch someone and I go through with it, and in this case, it didn't hurt, I'd know it was a dream) I still wasn't convinced, so I punched Emma in the face a few times. The last time, I felt something hard, like a tooth she were having problems with. Then I woke up
This dream reflects feelings of inadequacy and confusion in your role as a leader, especially with the added pressure of leading your church in real life. The presence of Emma and other familiar faces may symbolize support and guidance, but the fact that you were unsure of your responsibilities suggests self-doubt and uncertainty about your leadership abilities. The presence of your cousin, uncle, and former campus minister could represent different aspects of yourself or influences in your life that you look up to or seek approval from.
The homeless man in the bathroom stall could symbolize feelings of neglect or overlooked aspects of yourself that need nurturing or attention. Emma closing the door for him may indicate a desire to protect vulnerable or marginalized parts of yourself or others. The hallucination of Emma's face changing and the test of punching her to determine if it's a dream suggest a struggle between reality and perception, a need to validate your experiences and confirm your grasp on reality.
Overall, this dream may be highlighting your inner struggles with self-confidence, leadership, authenticity, and differentiating between reality and illusion. It may be beneficial to reflect on these themes and explore ways to address any underlying insecurities or uncertainties in your waking life.
